Hello, I am Hannah, mum of two boys and a soon to be Ofsted registered childminder in Rawdon, Leeds.

After my first son was born I went back to work part time as an ecologist and my son attended a nursery. Being a working parent managing the demands of a career and a young family is a challenge like no other. Good quality childcare that you can trust and rely upon is the only way to make it work. After my second son was born a couple of years later I decided not to return to work so that I could to spend more time with my boys.

For the last year and a half I have put all my time and energy into giving my children the best start in life. Looking after small children seven days a week is challenging and hard work but is also a lot of fun and very rewarding. I love watching them grow and develop and I am privileged to be able to spend this time with them. I know I provide a loving, caring environment for my children and support their development by leading stimulating and creative learning experiences.

It’s taken me a while to work out what I want to do with my life, having children has changed my perspectives on everything! Having experience of being both a working parent relying on a childcare provider for my son, and being a stay at home mum has made me appreciate how important early years childcare is for families. I am so happy and excited to be starting a new career as a childminder offering top quality childcare to local families.

I have always been interested in environmental education, teaching children about the environment and natural world. Before I began working as an ecologist I had several voluntary roles working with children in a variety of settings including with the RSPB and at an outdoor education centre in the Peak District. Environmental education will be an important part of my childminding routine, providing the children with experiences of different natural environments and wild spaces.
